PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
Colton is the newest member of our Elevate Physical Therapy family. Originally from Humboldt, Iowa, he cherished the close relationships of a small-town community but desired to be surrounded by more opportunities for excitement and thus found the perfect fit at our Johnston location. Colton completed his undergraduate education at Wartburg College where he competed in cross country and track. He was always intrigued by anatomy and physiology but really found his passion when he started discovering the power of exercise as medicine. Following his sophomore year of undergrad, he had his own experience with physical therapy when he underwent an ankle ligament reconstruction surgery. His own rehabilitation experience helped him to return to running and further affirmed his passion for helping individuals take a more active role in their health to return to the activities they love. He chose to pursue this challenge by earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. In his free time, Colton enjoys golfing, playing sand volleyball, watching movies, and spending time with his family, particularly his niece (Ellie, 3) and nephew (Zach, 1 month). Colton takes his responsibility to care for his clients very seriously but enjoys providing a welcoming and light-hearted atmosphere. He understands people aren’t always feeling the best when they come to physical therapy and understands the impact a fun and encouraging atmosphere can have on the experience. He is thrilled to be joining a team that emphasizes personal relationships and is looking forward to positively serving the community.
